In recent years, as a result of the global pandemic, Christian mission work in Sarapiqui, a Costa Rican province with a population that includes many migrant workers enduring economic hardship and low literacy rates, has focused on providing basic support like as education, healthcare, and vocational training.

Ascension Ministries, Iglesia Pueblo de Cristo, and ECSFin performed a comprehensive research of Sarapiquí to better understand the region's socioeconomic, cultural, and geopolitical issues. The team identified critical concerns through comprehensive study and community participation, such as economic instability, limited access to education, and the difficulties experienced by migrant workers seeking employment in agricultural plantations. By researching these dynamics, researchers gained significant insights into the population's needs, allowing them to create effective outreach programs that addressed both the community's spiritual and everyday issues.

With these findings, the organization proposed a number of faith-based initiatives aimed at rebuilding the community using biblical principles. These programs include literacy and vocational training to give individuals with the skills required for long-term economic stability, as well as healthcare measures to assist families in need. By integrating faith into these social initiatives, Ascension Ministries and its partners aim to cultivate a community rooted in hope, resilience, and self-sufficiency in Sarapiquí.

Beyond helping material needs, the outreach initiatives prioritize spiritual growth and communal fellowship. Special programs for children and teens emphasize mentorship, discipleship, and leadership development, ensuring that the next generation is prepared with both biblical insight and practical life skills. Ascension Ministries, Iglesia Pueblo de Cristo, and ECSFin together to deliver sustainable change to Sarapiquí by combining helping hands with the transforming power of the Gospel, encouraging individuals and families to build a brighter, faith-centered future.
